No Bueno Zara :(

by hopelesslyambitiousv

Before I begin, I just want to point out (make it clear rather) that I am the biggest Zara fan. In fact if you look in my dresser draw right now, you will find a whole section filled to the max with the brands trousers, skirts, and t-shirts.

This is why it pains me to continue :(.

The only thing I asked for this christmas was a Zara gift card; I even featured it on my wish list post. A Zara gift card was exactly what I got, and I couldn’t have been more happier. That was until I got back to Providence from my holiday in New York, went on the website, loaded up my shopping cart, went to process the order, and realized there was absolutely no field to pay with my gift card.

my completely useless christmas gift 😦

Ughhhhhhh !!! Why Zara ???! Why must you forsake me ?? after all we’ve been though, this is how you do me?? I mean, why even launch an e-commerce website if all your bases aren’t covered??

There’s no way my mom would have bought me a Zara gift card if she knew there would be trouble to use it.I live in Providence 8 months out of the year where Zara doesn’t even exist. Not to mention their Semi-Annual Sale is in full effect, going on right now. I wait all year for these sales. It’s that serious for me. I even set up google alerts for it and everything!

I can’t believe I won’t be able to use my gift card. That’s the whole purpose of asking for a gift card. If I had the money on my Visa, there would be no need for the gift card would there? I guess the sliver lining in this whole mess is Zara has one of the best gift card policies. The cards never expire and you never get hit with those hidden value reducing fees.

Still, I am  a very sadden loyal customer who has to wait until the next holiday to go back home and pay full price for the Zara goodies she loves.

Well Dressed !

by hopelesslyambitiousv

Opening Ceremony’s Pre-Fall 2012 high-necked baby doll dresses are simply to die for! The patterns, colors, fabrics, and fit and flare silhouettes offer the ultimate in flattery for just about every figure.

I am loving the retro inspired vibe this collection is giving me, especially the bold stripes, zig zag colors, and the high pointy collars. My next dress buy will definitely incorporate elements from this fun collection!

The last minute Xmas gift scurry

by hopelesslyambitiousv

We’re exactly four days away from Christmas D-day. And what have most of you done to prepare ? The answer is nothing! I happen to work in a mall and I see all the crowed stores loaded with panicked faces galore.

Why did you guys wait so long to do your Christmas shopping?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not here to past judgement or make anyone in particular feel bad. Hell, my own mother is guilty of christmas shopping procrastination. The good news is there is still hope for you last minuters out there.

Many retailers like GAP, Old Navy, and H&M are having massive sales and have plenty left in stock to go around. In fact if you visit H&M’s website this is what you will be hit with as soon as you enter:

A lot of retailers are even staying open extra late just to accommodate you guys (including mine 😦 ).  Don’t be discouraged! there are still great gifts out there and opportunities to purchase.  Just the other day I ordered a gift for my god son off Amazon and it promised to be delivered by christmas!

Be creative, take one last ounce of initiative, and if all else fails you can always count on a good ‘ol gift card.

Good Luck Guys

My Christmas Wish list ..

by hopelesslyambitiousv

Growing up I never had a really chance to actually sit down and make a formal christmas last. My brother and I were usually always given a really ‘big’ surprise gift (for me it was mostly variations of the newest Barbie doll & outfits)  along with something we needed like a few new clothes, and as we got older we were able to pretty much just come out and ask for the number one thing we wanted. So unlike the other kids that returned to school right after christmas break, I didn’t have a long list of things to share about what I got versus what I had  demanded on my list.  I was just thankful to get what I had gotten. And nothing else truly mattered to me.

So here’s my long overdue grown up christmas list 🙂

What is a blogger without an iPad 2 ?

and while I’m still dreaming, why shouldn’t I have an over the top case to flaunt my iPad in ?!

We have yet to talk about my Essie addiction here yet .. lol

A pair of vintage cat eye frames

Get me a Zara gift card & I’m set for the year !!

A little unconventional, but I’ve always wanted a dress form mannequin to display in my room

In the end I was always thankful for what I received on Christmas. But with that being said, in the past couple of years I’ve also learned if you don’t ask for something, you will pretty much get nothing.

Style Sisters !

Even if the rest of the Kardashian clan can’t quite keep it together, we can always count on the younger set to come through yet again! Kendall always looks absolutely stunning and here Kylie has decided to bring it too ..

Take note ladies & gentleman, this is how you rock a colored blazer. Kourtney, Khole, and Kim have some major style competition on their hands. Move over Kardashians, the little Jenner’s plan on taking the fashion world by storm !

For the environmentally conscious coffee lover

by hopelesslyambitiousv

A great inexpensive gift to give friends and loved ones this year are these Starbucks travel mugs and tumblers. They’re perfect for taking hot or cold beverages with you when you’re on the go.

The best part about these Starbucks tumblers, each time your gift receiver uses it at a Starbucks location, they get 10 cents off their beverage purchase. Doesn’t seem like a lot, but trust it really adds up in the long run. Plus there’s the benefit of saving a paper cup, and ultimately the environment :).

Give the gift of hosiery

by hopelesslyambitiousv

This year instead of opting for lame, old, plain socks; why don’t you guys consider giving hosiery instead. They’re an inexpensive gift at the same price point as festive socks, but says a lot more.

knee-high, striped tights, and pinstriped tights can be found at ASOS, Urban Outfitters, and American Apparel respectively.

For women, It is important to start every outfit off right with the best leg undergarments possible. So this year swap those last-minute gift sock purchases with these awesome tights for your girlfriends/sisters/daughters/wives 🙂
