Style Obsession: Brad Goreski !!

by hopelesslyambitiousv

To be honest, I’ve always been a fan of Brad’s. In fact, after he left The Rachel Zoe Project I realized he was one of the main reasons why I loved the show in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, Rachel is great and all, and runs a brilliant styling empire to be envied, but I have a soft spot in my heart for a well dressed ambitious gay :).

Brad is awesome not only because he can style both celebrity men and women, but also because he is the king of the signature look. He OWNS the well tailored prep, bow ties, POC (pop of color), and thick glasses look!! From the very first season of TRZP he won me over.

I loved the first season of his show It’s a Brad, Brad World! I loved how the show followed him in his personal life and showed his struggle, ambition, and courage to build his own styling company and venture out the shadow of Rachel Zoe. Not to mention it’s entertaining as hell. This guy can do anything in my opinion, and as long as he’s still styling, appearing on red carpets, and showing up on TV, I will continue to support ❤❤❤.

A Pair for My Mother

by hopelesslyambitiousv

When I was in kindergarten not so many years ago, I was introduced to what would become one of my favorite children’s books of all time.  Since then, A Chair For My Mother has stuck with me and is the inspiration and play on words behind this post.

I’m sure after a buildup like that you’re probably wondering where this is going right?

During one of my brief visits to and from home, my mother’s glasses and the bottom of my feet had a unfortunte run in, and of course, my big size 11 feet came out victorious. RIP my mom’s glasses :(. Not to worry though, I think the reason my mom didn’t totally flip is because she was secretly looking for an excuse to finally get up and get the new pair of glasses she has desperately needed for some time now. My mother is a faithful member of the “one pair is all I need” glasses community and as a result, when I inadvertently ruined her glasses she didn’t have another pair to turn to.

Being the self-proclaimed trendseeking fashionista that I am, I have made it my latest crusade to find my mother a pair of glasses that will update her style and compliment her face. Along this journey I have found some pretty cool websites that have affordable, stylish, and practical pairs of glasses.

What’s cool about these sites is they have a feature called virtual try on which allows you to see how the glasses might look on you before you actually go to purchase. For my mom, I am looking for either a sleek semi-rimless rectangular pair, or a two tonal pair in a tortoise or deep burgundy that fades to clear. I really like these websites because they look at glasses not just from a practical, “I need to be able to see” standpoint, but also from a fashion accessory point as well. They’re glasses, They’re on your face. Why not play them up and have some style to go along with the necessity?

Absence makes the Blog Grow Stronger

by hopelesslyambitiousv

I would love to tell you guys that during my little hiatus here and there, that I’ve been busy do this, and doing that (insert very important fashion related activities here). But truth is I was swamped with school work and running low on inspiration. It happens to the best of us :(.

But from here on out, I will make a commitment to stay on top of this blog and keep the ambition coming !! After all, if I’m going to continue to use this as a skill and bullet on my resume, I might as well make absolute sure that it is up to date and fresh.

I have a much lighter course load as I creep slowly into graduation mode, so that means there’s more time to get inspired and keep it coming. That means more time for lookbooks, tumblrs, blogs, and everything else that comes with the territory of fashion industry blogging.

Point is, it’s not over people. Hopelessly Ambitious V will not fall victim of google’s graveyard of abandoned blogs. Promise.
